Quilting in Leon with the Historical Society

Tote Bag Quilting Project with Leon Historical Society
Saturday, May 5, 2018 - 9:00am to 5:00pm

Feel like winter will never end?  Try a NEW learning Experience!  Make a quilted, lined tote bag with padded handles at the Leon Historical Society Museum.  These bags are really something! I saw one that was very similar but unlined on Easy for $42.00 plus shipping and actually prefer our lined version. Also the add a patch pocket or any other embellishment you desire. We will start out with a plain lining and see where we go.

Please call 257-5272 or 296-5709 and reserve your spot. We will be meeting at the Leon Fire Hall in Leon, NY. The actual address is 12195 Leon-New Albion Road, Conewango Valley, NY 14726, at 9AM for coffee and donuts. If you have a sewing machine please brings it with you and we will have fantastic day sewing! And lunch will be homemade soup.

Lunch and Materials are included in the price of $35.  Reservations are needed and can be made by calling 257-5272 or 296-5709.

This tote bag is an unlined one had woven handles that cut into your fingers – these padded ones don’t! I made four of these so far, and use them for all kinds of things. One has a knitting project in it, a crochet project in another. One has my book to take when waiting at the doctor’s office and one is missing. I suspect it may have been “borrowed”.
The really nice thing about these is that you can personalize them and make any configuration of pockets, pouches and even zippered areas in the inside lining. LeonHistoricalSociety.webs.com
